Today we received two emails that were sent within 30 minutes of each other. The first email was from missionary friends in India with pictures of their new baby born August 4th. There was obviously great joy with the announcement of this new precious life and we share in their joy.
The second email was from the acting director of AIM International Services in Kenya. This email announced that a AIM AIR mechanic who was involved in an airplane crash last Saturday had past away. As a result of the crash he suffered severe burns and was flown to South Africa for treatment. He left a wife and four children.
The pilot of the plane, an AIM missionary, also passed away as a result of the crash. He also left a wife and four children. All of us who knew these families are in shock and grief. In regards to the latest announcement someone said “We are without words, but not without hope.” I think this sums up the way many are feeling. What can you say? We have to trust and believe that God is in control and he wants the best for us. We have to cling to him because he is trustworthy and where else can we turn.
We appreciate your prayers for these families and the entire AIM missionary staff in Kenya who are dealing with this loss.
