We believe that God has called us to an exciting ministry in Jos Nigeria. This ministry is called City Ministries and reaches out to orphans, street children, youth and widows throughout Jos. They provide food, education, medical treatment, and vocational training all with the ultimate goal of sharing the love of Jesus and bringing them into the Kingdom of God. They also have sports programs to reach out to the youth. Along with meeting basic human needs they provide Bible education, and discipleship programs. In addition, they work with Nigerian missionaries to spread the word of God throughout Nigeria. They have several care centers around Jos to reach as many people as possible.
Richard will be in charge of the construction for the ministry. He will supervise several Nigerian builders who will do the actual work. In addition, Richard will provide designs, estimates and manage the finances to ensure projects are completed within budget.
For now Susan will be wife, mom and teacher, however, we anticipate that she will become more directly involved with City Ministries as we begin to settle down to life in Jos. There is an excellent international school, Hillcrest, that David and Brian can attend, but they will probably be homeschooled until they adjust to life in Jos. We hope that they will begin school at Hillcrest later in 2008.
We are excited about this new ministry and look forward to leaving for Nigeria on February 28th.
